|For Real Fitness||
Hi, and in case you're interested here's a little bit about me and my back ground...
I'm a registered nurse (RN) and certified fitness trainer through the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA).
Right now I'm 55 but I actually really started to get interested in fitness in my late twenties. We just had our second child and I saw myself slowly falling into the typical American lifestyle of little exercise and bad diet as my belly expanded and lost muscle.
During that time I began reading all the fitness and muscle magazines trying to figure out "what really worked" and the latest "secret" for 6 pack abs etc.
It really was a frustrating experience.
As an aside...Although there may be some good information in some of the fitness magazines some of the time, you've got to realize that magazines exist to sell ads and products. In fact many magazines exist solely to peddle their own supplements through cleverly disguised "advertorials" citing poorly designed "scientific studies" or completely taking out of context the information from well designed studies promising you amazing results with fancy graphs and pics of "perfect body" models, as if this is how they achieved those perfectly toned abs, butt and arms. What a scam - and don't EVEN get me started on Dr Oz!
I tried this work out and then that special diet. And I saw some success, not a lot, but some.
It actually took a number of years of studying and implementing before I really understood how to accomplish different goals and how to accomplish them in the most efficient way possible.
This learning curve was all taking place while I was in the Navy. Soon I was a fitness coordinator for our command of over 150 sailors insuring that our members passed the twice yearly Physical Readiness Test Standards (PRT) and body fat requirements.
Here I am during my retirement from the US Navy Band in 2005.
After I retired from the Navy I explored a few different career options and finally settled on becoming a Nurse.
I knew I wanted to do something in the health care field so I went back to school and received my RN degree in 2010.
Since that time I've been pursuing my personal training and working as a registered nurse. First at Fairfax Hospital on the orthopedic and spine units and for the last two and a half years at the Fair Oaks Wound Healing Center.
As a nurse I see so many "young" people in their 50's and 60's that are in such horrible health that they barely have enough strength to walk, let alone engage in any meaningful "movement".
Often, their lives consist of one doctor appointment after another and managing the 10 to 20 or more medications they take every day to 'bandaid' their high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, heart disease, atherosclerosis etc., etc.
Now don't get me wrong, medication is often a lifesaver and is many times absolutely appropriate but...
What's so sad is that often if not most of the time, most of these conditions could have been minimized or even eliminated with a lifestyle that promotes health and vitality. Yes, simply put a Fitness Lifestyle.
As a Mom or Dad the most important thing you can do for your kids is be a healthy and fit Mom or Dad...NOW'S THE TIME!
What I'd like to offer you is this...
Miraculous results that 'addicts' you to a Fitness Lifestyle that promotes health, builds a lean strong body and oh yeah, has you looking and feeling amazing in the shortest time possible - for the rest of your life!
Sound good to you?
I hope so...
